Anaheim Ducks 2016: Season in Review

It's a little late But I though it would be best to cover the season that was for our team even though they fell short in winning a Game 7 for the 4th straight year. If i had to sum up the Ducks 15-16 it's Roller-coaster yet at the end it felt like Deja Vu. As Much as we expected our Ducks to start strong it was opposite...Losing back to back shutouts as well as season opener and Home Opener Dampen and Demoralize many including myself attending the 2 games vs Colorado and Phx made me and perhaps others wonder will Ducks make it back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. 1-7-2 lead us to question if our team needed to rebuild or Fire Bruce Boudreau. Being there live witnessing each loss felt like a Punch in the gut....Sometimes I ponder and ask like many who attended those Games..."What is going on".

Questions linger over those losses but My resolve was never shaken more like a shock as many were use to Ducks Strong Starts in Seasons Prior. It was strengthen knowing our Ducks had a tendency before Bruce's arrival to be slow starters. first 2 Months were tough but like previous season we endure as the Ducks pick up the pace once December rolled around. Ducks started coming together....Goals were coming from the usual Players we saw and Goaltending was able to get us some wins.


We witness milestones achieve from Ducks earning their 800th Win vs Chicago on Feb13th to arrival of David Perron and Jamie McGinn{Hope Ducks Re-sign them both}. Oh Let's not forget Ducks going from worst to first in Reclaiming another Pacific Division Title by leaping over LA our Hated Enemy in the last few months. many moments stand out besides Ducks 4th Straight Pacific Divison Title... Come from behind to win in OT vs Ottawa Mar26th. Yet despite what we endure nothing is stinging as Ducks Lost another Game 7 vs Nashville whom I personally Beleive Ducks would have SMASH the Preds to Dust..Losing 2-1 was Heartbreaking as it was for other Losses we witness. YES it's tough to be a Ducks Fan at this moment but like all low-points we witness as the Ducks have in seasons prior. They will overcome this with a stronger Resolve.

Task of redemption began with Bruce being relived of his duties and Ducks GM Bob Murray calling out the Core Players on losing another Game 7....4 straigh Game 7 losses yes IT Sucks I know. But imho This team will Break this so-Called "Curse". Despite the Criticism and all we have read,Debated and at times had arguments over We will always stand with our team for 16-17 will mark 10 years since Ducks Historic Stanley Cup Win. I Believe Ducks will get back to the Stanley Cup Finals it's NOT a Matter of HOW but........When!.

Bruce Bouderau's Dismissal:My Thoughs

Call it a prediction,or knowing the day will come....But when final Buzzer sound that night and Ducks Loss another Game 7. We knew certain that Bruce will be removed in coming days and weeks after 4th straight Game 7 loss that has dishonor our team and us all. Critics demanded Change,others ask for another chance but we know Patience was all bout gone and majority of Ducks Fans demanded Bruce be Let Go. It happen on 29th of April 2016 after 5 years Bruce was Fired by our Anaheim Ducks. 5 years makes him 2nd longest serving Ducks Coach in 23 year History of our team. What he has left behind is a teams that had strong seasons yet fall short in achieving the goals in Stanley Cup Playoffs. Closing out the series against rivals and enemies We know was Big Factor in his Dismissal. It some say maybe his mark...But we cannot forget positives he has brought to the Ducks


1.4 Straight Pacific Division Titles. 2. Fastest Ducks Coach to reach 200+ Wins. 3.3 straight Strong Starts and 4.800th Franchise Win in Ducks History. these are the Positives Bruce will definitely leave his mark in. There are many others but what we deal now is who will be Successor to Bruce. Be it Paul Maclean,Trent Yawney within the System or a Familiar Face in Randy Carlyle or another Outside. Bob has stated he will take his time to name a new Head Coach.


To me it's clear Change is needed for the Ducks to take the Next Step towards reclaiming the Stanley Cup and embracing everylasting Glory. From 2003 to 2007 they achieve that and they will do so after 4 straight Game 7 Losses. So say what you want bout Bruce he was a Good Coach but he was not good in the Playoffs. However for the team Accountability will be laid out in coming Months to remedied a situation that has been left to Rot. Ducks will have new Outlook and be Reformed to face the Challenges in reclaiming their Honor...REDEMPTION my Fellow Ducks Fans is on the Mind and Should be for our team.....

My Frustration:this year's Game 7 Loss

There is nothing for us to say...or speak of...We lost yet again to a better team. What irks me the Most is Losing another Game 7 THIS time to WildCard Team...Don't get me wrong. I am Die hard Ducks Fan since Day1. a Archivist who collects and records events down in my History Book. What gets me is this team once again falls short...Call them chokers or whatever you have that right. I don't care for it Boogles my mind how in the WORLD losing 4 STRAIGHT Game 7's after holding 3-2 Leads and Cannot close it out is Baffling yet Frustrating. This team is good but NOT GOOD enough. We have the Roster for 4 straight years lose Important games during the seasons. 4 Straight Pacific Division Titles is a Plus.......But the Bigger Prize is Stanley Cup. It's tough seeing the vids of Fellow Ducks Fans and reading their Words on Ducks Message Board.


Anger is boiling and Answers must be Concluded on why this team for fourth straight year cannot get it done. We have heard Narratives and who is to blame....Biggest Problem this team face is how to reach the Goal in Winning the Stanley Cup. Sometimes I wonder after each game 7 Loss in the past few years that a team with so much talent can fall short. This leads us to another Offseason full of questions on how to retool,Regroup and Adapt...If one thing is certain Changes need to be made to Jumpstart this team. It happen before and I believe it can happen again. Example 2007 Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks.

Ducks vs Nashville:Time for Redemption

What lies ahead for the Ducks is a chance for Revenge and wash away the stinging Shock that was Defeat to Nashville. More so this series is a Chance to Redemption. Regular season now in the books and with that another Pacific Division Title added too. Beginnings of Stanley Cup Quest...within 3 Days. Ducks vs Nashville that is a series we have not heard in a longtime. 5 years ago last time we battle those Mustard Cats...we let our Guard down. Assuming it we breeze by them with Ease. Yet we witness onslaught by Nashville who was not only willing to prove themselves but shame us in knowing their is a threat rising in that Team. I remember Game 5 Ducks were leading Nashville who then pulled their Goalie "Hold the Line" was all of us wanted and then BOOM Preds tied it......later they Won in OT which turn the tided in battle with Those Cats. Shock it was to all yet like many shortcomings we move one and focus on many seasons onward. Despite all we have gone through in past months the Ducks going from worst to first in NHL Pacific Division......measure of this team, be it skills,Talent and Collective Will is going to be tested from the vets and Rookies to Coaching Staff who will strategize in gaining the edge over Nashville. Ignore Hockey Pundits,Predictors and Doubters....We know our team well and Battles they face will be Tough. They need not only our support 110% but expressing of our Passionate for them as a whole. From Ducks Fans I met over past 8 years to many I spoke on Ducks Message Board,Facebook and Twitter.......Quest for the Stanley Cup begins with us Standing Together with our team.....UNITED and Ready for whatever Nashville throws at us. Series is give us a chance to be the Best we must SHOW ALL NHL Fans,Haters and those who despise us ANAHEIM DUCKS are the Best and This First Round Series vs Nashville will be a TEST no more no less. Ducks need Focus and Readiness

Major Disappointment last night...Many of us know well in honor of us Ducks Fans a Win would be a fitting gesture of thank You as with a Stick Salute. I feel personally that last night's game was ours to win..2pts was vital due part our Enemy LA winning that Night. We can dwell on it but with 3 games left one must look forward right NOW not back of us AT THIS CRITICAL MOMENT OF THE YEAR. Ducks need to be Ready and Stand Together what is a important Journey to begin. Everyone must be ready for what's to come. Health is important as I mention few times as do Depth. Contributions to Ducks Cause must not be limited to 1 or 2 players. For Example a Goalie cannot be relied too heavily to bail this team out as Gibson was doing last night. We blame one or 2 players but at the end whole team holds responsibility to each other and us Ducks Fans who stood by them through thick and Thin. Ducks being at 99pts along with our Enemy LA with same number of pts. It comes down to 1 game that determines who will be number 1 in Pacific Division and Clinch Pacific Division Title for perhaps 4th time.by the time Quest for the Stanley Cup Begins....all players within roster be ready and Healthy. Depth will be tested and I feel they will be our Greatest advantage. What it will come down is Focus and need to be Ready for whatever Adversity throws at them. Road ahead for our Anaheim Ducks

We knew it could happen and it did many of us prefer our Ducks to earn it threw a Win be it through Reg,Overtime or Shootout. Even Though a OT Loss to Toronto was disappointing the Benefit was our team earning a Point to Clinch their 12th Playoff Berth in Team History. But as we soak in and embrace knowing Fact Ducks Stanley Cup Quest will being in few weeks, 7 games remaining and questions on who our Ducks face are amounting each day. Whether be it Chicago or LA in the First Round it remains to be seen.......Part of me feel that IF the Ducks Face Chicago or LA in First Round. There will be a Chance Redemption. Game 7 Losses to our Hater Enemy LA and Rival that is Chicago still stings like a Wasp. It took us awhile to get use to it but IF Fate puts us in path in Battling both a Enemy and Rival,I say so BE IT. With their season is winding down and Ducks Finishing Strong we know the Path is no easy one for them to take. Nothing is easy when the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin for there will be tough nights ahead and battles of attrition when Game 1 Begins. Pondering as we may Let's not look past 7 games for they hold the key to where this team will be once 15-16 season concludes. Most of you I know are eager for the Playoffs to begin and Quest to start. All of us know what our Ducks are capable of....2014 and 2015 is memory for us but let's not forget how our Ducks were able to overcome Adversity to be where they are now. What it Means to be a Ducks Fan!

8 words that ring in my mind for few months now. I wonder bout what it means to not only me.....But everyone in general. If you are a Local Ducks fan in Orange County California,Ducks Fan in Finland or Sweden or those like myself in Canada we share 3 traits that define us. Passionate,Loyal and Classy. We live each moment of the games we attended be it Live in person,watching it on TV or Listening via Radio/Internet Radio and now by Mobile App. Ducks for 23 years been part of our lives since their Founding in 1993. Anyways no matter where you live and how you keep in touch with the team over the past 2 and half Decades we have witness milestones being reached be it a Player or Team achieving it and Milestones broken. Accolades accomplished and of course NHL and Team Records set in place. Few words that some up these experiences we see each year/season when Seeing Anaheim Ducks...."history in the Making". it says right on the upper area of Ducks Team store when you look around. Reason for that is not everyday one can tell each other or other Hockey fans that "I was there when First game,First Goal,First Win.....etc" or know who score the First Goal in Ducks History or First Series Win and so on. You see many of us who are Passionate truly understand History is important to the Ducks and to all Ducks Fans no matter what. If you have been around and see the Highs and Lows,Good and Bad...Worse and Perseverance. One can say that All of us saw many moments that forever live in us Ducks Fanbase for years now. What makes us exceptional is we Cheer,Support and back our team 110% not only a like Family but Community of Ducks Fans and Hockey Aficionados from Ducks Message Board,Facebook,Twitter,Instgram and many more. Knowing our History and seeing it been achieve is positive Inspiration in our lives and for many. Yes it's game but to others like myself it united us and brings us together to enjoy the Sport we love and the team we love More. In Perspective we Adapted,evolved and Progress into Passionate Fans of Hockey and Anaheim Ducks in General. Facts we live by is knowing that each season and each year that pass Ducks have proven time and time again to persevere and Prove Doubters wrong,those who assume we fall don't know Team well as we do. We know they tend to have slow starts,We know they blaze in 2nd half with strong Finish.. From names that call us mocking our team's Name in the Past till time we Hoist the Stanley Cup.........We thrive as the Ducks do in proving those wrong. Through it all We stand as do our Ducks. Whether they will or lose one thing we know well is our History and Team we have come to admire. Good or bad Ducks perserve and Ducks Fans in Life do as well. That is what it means to be Ducks Fan in general to Perverse no matter what and Know History of our team well as Deeds of our Players and Milestones they achieve. We are privilege everytime to know we were there when milestones are achieve each Night no more no less. For now Tonite we will see another Milestone achieve. Let us look back at we embrace over past 2 decades and appreciate our Team and Look forward to the Future.
